|We are contacted frequently by pastors who wish to connect with their local
police officers and show their appreciation to them. If you are a pastor and
this your desire, let me say thank you for remembering these "Hometown
Heroes"! Consider for a moment what life would be like if no one was willing
to pin on the badge and bear the burden that comes with it. In Romans
Chapter 13 we are reminded that this is indeed a God ordained profession,
and that police officers are God's ministers to us for good. As we consider the
importance of their duty, and the toll it takes on a person and their family, it
should motivate us to express our gratitude.
If you wish to plan a "Thin Blue Line" service we would be honored to assist
you. I have spoken in these services for a number of years and because of my
background I have been blessed with the ability to connect with officers as
"one of their own". In addition, we also provide to the officers our "Cops
Special Edition New Testament" which they enjoy receiving. To assist with the
planning stages, we provide the church with a list of guidelines to use which
offers suggestions for a tremendous service. We will also send an electronic
flier designed specifically for your church which can be printed and
disseminated at your local police department, which will be followed up by
letters from our ministry to the Chief, Sheriff, and Highway Patrol area
We hope you will consider booking a meeting to reach out to your local
officers. The officers will be greatly appreciative, and your church family will enjoy meeting the officers and seeing
them as people, instead of just a uniform. There will be a lot of laughs as we explore the funny side of policing, but
honor and respect will increase as we also explore the "heavy side" of policing. The common response I hear
from pastors is "why haven't we done this sooner"?
Below, I have addressed the most frequently asked questions by
Pastors, but if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me
at 478-256-2497, or by email at email@example.com.
- What is a Thin Blue Line Service? This is typically the name we give a service that honors police
officers. The thin blue line is very familiar to all police and is an emblem that represents the strong camaraderie
and brotherhood of officers, the memory of those who have fallen, and the blue in between the black represents
police officers standing between order and chaos. This is very fitting when you consider that God has chosen
police officers to stand in the gap between good and evil.
- Does your ministry charge for your assistance and speaking? Most churches are mindful of our
traveling expenses but the answer to this question is No. This is the area God has called me to serve Him in, we
do not ask for anything other than an opportunity to address the officers in attendance.
- Will your family travel with you and what are your requirements for lodging? The distance to
the meeting is first considered. We have been blessed with a Motorhome that accommodates our family when
traveling reasonable distances, and they travel with me roughly 50% of the time. If your church is not equipped
with "RV Hookups" we can either use our generator or stay in a campground.
- Are you also available for services that would include all first responders, including
Firefighters and Paramedics? Yes, I have spoken in many such services.
- What are your doctrinal beliefs? See Below:
The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and that they
compose the entire Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed; and therefore, are the
final authority for faith and life.
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each eternal in
being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
The Person and Work of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having
been begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order to redeem sinful men.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a
representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical
resurrection from the dead.
The Fallen Nature of Man
We believe that mankind has inherited a sinful nature, and is alienated from God; and of themselves are utterly
unable to remedy their lost condition.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God to man by grace and must be received by personal faith in the Lord
Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
